The 3Rs Development - Rebuild, Restore, Renew

Most of the redevelopment will be between May - September 2010 and includes the following:

• Removal of Asbestos. April 2010
• A new energy-conserving roof. April/May 2010
• A new heating system in the old (1927) part of the building.
• An entrance foyer area between the two buildings including an extended area at the front of them.
• Insulation throughout the building including new windows in the Sanctuary and rear rooms.
• A kitchenette to serve the new foyer/welcome area with storage.
• A multi-access toilet at the front of the building.
• A vehicle drop-off point and ramp at the front of the building.
• An extension to and refurbishment of the existing kitchen.

The history of the scheme
We have been planning this redevelopment for 7 years to respond to the changes in the community which we serve as well as necessary building improvements. We considered demolishing and rebuilding the complete site but costs encouraged us to go for the project outlined above.

The cost of the scheme
The budget figure from our consultants is £273,000. We have raised a total of £260,819 to date. We are currently looking for outside support from various other sources. If you wish to support the development of our church please contact John Ogleby on 0116 233 7978. Thank You.
